Scott C. Yates is the founder of JournalList.net, the standards body that maintains the trust.txt ecosystem that makes it possible for news organizations to show trusted relationships in a machine-readable file. He is also a strategic consultant on complex problems.
Previously, he was the Entrepreneur in Residence at CableLabs. Before that he was a startup founder having created three tech startups from scratch. Before that he was a journalist in New York City and his home state of Colorado. He serves as an advisor to a public television station, a summer camp, and countless startups as a mentor in the TechStars organization. He is the author of “The Future of Water” published in 2012 and holds a patent related to traffic and transit information. He may be best known for his (thus far) fruitless efforts to fix Daylight Saving Time.
