Anna Draffin is the former CEO of the Public Interest Journalism Initiative (PIJI) — an independent think tank advancing the sustainability and diversity of news as a public good in Australia. Under her leadership, PIJI mapped and indexed the nationwide decline and contraction of local and regional news outlets and the demise of community access to public interest news over the last five years.
She is a systems-thinker and adaptive leader, focused on policy and investment that drive shared economic and social returns across government, private and nonprofit sectors. Draffin brings clear insight from a range of industries that have faced transformation and market uncertainties. An experienced, for-purpose non-executive and senior executive, she currently sits on the Victorian Government’s Metropolitan Development Advisory Panel and Homes Melbourne Advisory Board (City of Melbourne).
